Zennor Path
mixed media on canvas, 24in x 24in, £800

Roy Ray was born in 1936 and moved to Cornwall in 1974. Heavily involved in the painting scene in West Cornwall and St Ives in particular, he was Principal of the St Ives School of Painting between 1977 and 2000, a founder member of Porthmeor Printmakers and remains a member of both the Newlyn and the Penwith Societies of Artists.

Ray's paintings combine rich, earthy colours with the use of deeply textured surfaces, reflecting those found in the weather-worn landscape of Penwith.
